Mary's ART and EDUCATION                

I decided to go backto school last year.  I wanted to finish my degree so I could have a job I really loved.  When we had Riley (our son) in 2006 I quit my full time job and worked nights at a local liquor store.  The hours were perfect so Scott (my husband) could work all day and when he came home I would go to work.  This way I could stay home with our son.  This worked well for a while but our family was rarely together at the same time and we had to change something.  So now I'm thirty and in college.  College is different now that I'm older.   The work at school doesn't seem as hard but finding the time to stay on top of it is a challenge.  While having a fomily doesn't leave me with much opportunity for traveland extracurricular activity, it does give me the motivation to do the very best at whatever tasks are in front of me.  Art is a large part of my life and one of the most enjoyable aspects of it.  I want to be able to share what I know with students so they can appreciate the world of visual art as much as I do.  This is why I want to become a teacher.
